lll reptile

Has anyone bought a green tree python or emerald tree boa from lll reptile? If so what do you think of it?

Personally, I would support the small time professional breeders over a comapny such as LLL reptile. You will ALWAYS get better service, and these people really know the Chondro inside and out. You shouldn't have any problems whatsoever that an experienced breeder can't either answer or fix for you. I have only bought from Marcel, however a lot of others who breed have been very helpful to me. Even though I didn't buy a snake from them, they still help.

So no, I wouldn't buy one from LLL reptile. I'd buy from a private breeder who really knows what they're doing.

I have bought three young GTP's from them at different times. No problems, all good eaters. All doing well.
A cheaper way then buying a young GTP from a "small" breeder is to buy a GTP from a private seller that bought it from a "small" breeder and that has already done its color change and you know what you are getting. Otherwise, in my opinion it’s like playing the lottery. You can spend big money on a baby that has good-looking parents and hope it gets some of the color.

That is part of the allure of chondros.....just think of all the possibilities? YOu just might end up with something like this..and wouldn't that be nice?

Id rather spend the money on a GTP that has completed its color change if Im looking for a "unique" GTP as you have pictured. Im just not into dropping a chunk off money on a baby GTP that comes from designer parents and "Might" be unique.

5K vs 30K

FamilyZoo Jan 18, 2005 06:36 AM

and at 5k the odds are it will not look like that when it does the color change, correct? Of a clutch how many look like that? Maybe one, but probably none. Does anyone offer a guarantee of what a baby will look like? Its like playing lotto with the price of a ticket being 1k and up.

Most people purchase GTP's as pets not investments. There are some real lookers out there that did not come from "designer inbred" parents and initial cost was 250-400 dollars for these captive bred animals.
