Sweet!

I like her greenish markings.

He started shedding in transit. They were all a bit thirsty when I put them away. Should I be concerned that he hasn't finished the shed or eaten it? I just unpacked the a couple of hours ago.

Those are some gorgeous satanics. I really love the satanics. I don't have any but maybe someday. They are so cool looking. I think they probably have the best camouflage of any of the leaftals. Congratulations to you and I hope they all do well for you. I'd say if the one male hasn't shed in 24 hours than it might be a good idea to try and help him out a little (wet a q-tip with warm water and gently rub any spots that might be stuck). Good luck! ~Jess
Read leah's post down below about rehydrating imported animals. She knows her stuff about these guys.
Cheers

Satanics are cryptic, certainly, but they dont hold a flame to pietschmani...

every time i have new friends come over, they're like "why the hell do you just have an empty terrarium over there. i tell em to look closer, and they still cant find em. although satanics can get tricky in a good ficus.
i think all leaftails have great camoflauge given the right set up. mossies are definately up there but i still think corkbarks are the best.satanics are pretty crazy in some dead leaf litter though.
look at this Mossy
I seriously need to get out and gather some wood from in the hills before it turns to scrubland again. I can never get wood in that condition. To quote pulp fiction "I say god damn. God damn." thats a great photo.
cheers

Id say on average you are right, of all the pics of that species..they are the hardest for me to spot no matter who took the photos....BUT I think under the right conditions Mossy's and maybe Phants too, are just as difficult.
