can anyone tell me what kind they are? they live with a friend in peru but i don't know if they are also found in the wild there.

er.. it's tortoise.. right?
i forgot that you make a name difference between land and water animals... in swiss german (what i normally speak) the animal name stays the same - we just add "water" to the name 
Hey, those are yellow-footed tortoises (Chelonoidis carbonaria).

Yes that is correct.
Oops haha.. I know C. carbonaria are redfoots,not yellow foots.. Sorry, I can't believe I did that lol..
