getting a piece of wood from outdoors to put in the tank ...

what should i do to clean it, i sprayed it with water , is that enough ?

Just wash it and scrub it real hard with hottish water and leave it to dry out again. Make sure these no bugs or stuff in it, it should be fine.

I use a mix of 10% bleach 90% warm water and give it a good scrubbing then I dry it out in the oven if it will fit if not I just let it sun dry.

It might also be a good idea to freeze it for 48 hours to fully ensure that there are no parasites.
