Ever long for the old days when you only kept a handful of animals?...

BobS Jan 12, 2005 11:21 AM

And got maximum enjoyment interacting with the few and not maintaining the many?

Remember the days of just looking forward to checking out the glistening scales and beautiful colors of that one animal at the end of a long day at work/school and being satisfied with it regardless of whatever any one else was keeping?

Ever find yourself thinking what few could I keep and be happy and content with?

Ever think of that animal you got rid of that now you wish you had because of disposition, unique color, or the fantastic way it displayed in a well set up cage?

Just thinking out loud....

Later....

There was a time when I had 38 animals. Then I kind of crashed. And now I keep 12. I enjoy the few more than the many. Yes I miss some that I sold or gave away but I know I'm much happier now.

Felt all of those and then some!!! I got rid of EVERYTHING cages and all, so I wouldn't be tempted to buy more. I kept one snake here he is.

` After years of too many, I've got it down to just a few favorites, and I'm having much more fun with them. Since most are Anacondas though, "handful" has a double meaning. lol

Stop the world-I want to get off!

Glad you brought this up.
Well, not really since I'm just preparing to get one in the next month or so.

Yup, thinking about that all the time. I want to choose wisely since I only plan on getting a handful.
I think if I can pace myself to one new critter a year, that will prevent me from getting overwhelmed regarding space, finances, skill or time. Sure I'm already gnawing at the bit to bring home an incredible menagerie, but oh well. Good things are worth waiting for.
Not to mention, I'll be waiting for when a few rare species become more commonly found cb and I'll be there when some morphs come down in price

What do you mean? There is always room for one more...pair. And breeding season is the best, when you don't have time to sleep, and who needs to spend time with the wife and kids, anyway?

LOL! Alas, I am mortal and am cursed by sleep's siren call. And coffee or caffiene laden dark chocolate can only perk me up so much...
