Boas and Ginger Snaps

Niobex Jul 04, 2003 03:17 PM

Has anyone here ever had their snake strike at a cookie or any non-herp food item? I had Blossom on my lap while I was watching TV and eating a ginger snap. She showed interest in the cookie by smelling it and flicking her tongue against it. I wasn't paying too much attention to her but she suddenly reared back and struck the cookie! Luckily she hit it in the flat side so nothing went in her mouth but to say that this took me aback a bit is putting it mildly! I could understand it if I was eating a piece of chicken or some such thing....but a gingersnap cookie??

Anyone have a similar experience? I would LOVE to hear about it.

Yeah, that's gross. I don't know if there's a specific standard for cookies, but the wheat they're made from is allowed to have 8mg of rat feces per kg according to the FDA. That's almost 1% rat excrement!

Ooops, sorry, bad math. Almost .001% rat excrement.
