How many bones does an average alligator have?

I am a third grade teacher and one of my students recently asked me how many bones an alligator has? Anyone know the answer?

You may get a better or more accurate response by visiting the Crocodilian forums. I am assuming you mean the big Alligators such as Alligator mississippiensis "American Alligator" This particular forum is for �Alligator Lizards witch are much much smaller such as one of my research subjects Elgaria multicarinata "Southern Alligator Lizard" Sorry that I can not help but that�s all the advice I have.
