I personally never stick the heat pad to the tank, and prefer to press it against the tank using magazines or some similar objects, The Heat pads packaging clearly states that Removing the heat pad from the applied surface can permanently damage the device and cause malfunction.

Dont stick it and dont put it inside. Its better if you dont stick it on anything, then you can reuse the heating pad in the future for other enclosures. youve already peeled the thing off the sticky back, thats ok. get a piece of aluminum foil and stick that down on it. That'll eliminate the stickiness and foil conducts heat well. now just put it under the container. You man need to elevate the container slightly to allow air flow from the heat pad.
read the directions. Most UTHs run too hot on the surface to safely use on plastic.

i got the 10.5"x11" 16 watt UTH by Exo Terra the Heatwave and it works well on my glass tank but on this plastic container it isnt doing much, it doesnt make very good contact with the plastic.
i put the foil on top and all that but it doesnt get it very warm. couldnt i put it inside the tank with some paper towels on top or something?
if you're sure its not too warm maybe i dunno. how will you work the cord so she doesnt climb it and get out?
the lid should still snap on the cord isnt very thick, unless you have another idea i could try? i just dont think its getting warm enough on the plastic, after it running for a while i touched the plastic surface and it was barely warm.
