russian bow tortois???

heyy i was just given 2 "Russian box tortoises" and dont know a thing about them, doing everything i can think of the is good for a tortois, but they dont seem to be eating, they dont seem to move as much as they did when i first got them, and one of them bobs his/her head sometimes, dont know what that means... this "not knowing" anything is hard =) so any helpful hints would be nice thanks a buch

first we have to decide what species you have.

can the tortoises close up their shells tightly, with the bottom half of the shell drawing up with a flexible hinge in the middle?

if so, it's some kind of box turtle. go to the box turtle forum for help.

if not, then maybe they are russian tortoises.
they look sort of like box turtles, but they have very different requirements. They come from a desert-like environment, eat only vegetation, and don't like going into the water very much.

If you can post a photo, that would help.

look at www.russiantortoise.net for assistance with russian tortoises. maybe the pictures on that website can help.
