Bush gives up the search...

rearfang Jan 12, 2005 05:55 PM

Today the Bush government announced that they were totaly unable to find evidence of WMD"s (surprised anyone?).

In a live interview with barbra Walters Bush said that the war was justified anyway because Saddam was "a danger".

After listening to Bush argue that WMD's were there and Chenney saying "there (quote) is no doubt that WMD's are in Iraq...." This final confirmation of the lack of the main reason we went to war should have some interesting fallout.

...waiting for that fallout. It's usually a waste of time to try to confuse people with the facts when their minds are made up. Certain types want to strike out at the first handy target when their noses are bloodied. Bush & Co. knew exactly how to exploit them. Imagine, you're looking for an excuse to go after Iraq's oil, and a Saudi terrorist group attacks on 9/11. Of course, Bush couldn't attack our "ally" Saudi Arabia, though they have even more oil than Iraq. So, Iraq will do. You could see that coming as the World Trade Center was hitting the ground. What you couldn't see coming was that the Iraqi people would put up such a stiff, and persistent fight. As an acquaintance in a "red" state says: Nuke em. Turn that place into a sheet of glass. The oil will still be there. Whew!

Very true dfr. Except for one thing. This whole Iraqi mess has transpired EXACTLY how I predicted it would (If you view my pre-Iraq war comments on this forum).

Historically, Arabs have not been great fighters on the world power level, but damn good guerrila fighters. All you have to do is look at Afghanistan under the Russians or Algeria under the French or a number of other historical examples. The inevidability of this kind of war was plain to anyone that was not blinded by war fever.

Excellent point Frank,

I would like to submit the following point also, in my opinion:

The Iraq people and "insurgents" are also fighting with an incredible incentive......the pre mentioned WAR is in their frontyard...and invaders are in THEIR country. Imagine if we had an occupying military force from another country here....how hard would every man woman and child fight to expel them?

Incentive. And lots of it. And rightfully so. We shouldnt be there, our presence is not necessary.

BTW...........Bush stated officially today that there never were any WMD's. But that we needed to free the Iraq people from terror.

Im pretty sure they are terrified behond their witts presently, with no end to it in sight.

Sincerely,

F. Albuiryj

Trivia question (in response to "damn good guerilla fighters": Who does the song that seems written for these guys ? Hint: it's called "urban monkey warfare".
