Interested in Amber Corn and breeding.

toiletoctopus Jan 12, 2005 06:33 PM

I'm thinking about purchasing an Amber Corn, because I think it is beautiful. Anyone in here have one, or know about this morph? Also, I'm interested in eventually breeding, and was wondering what would happen if I bred one of this variety with a normal corn. Thanks for any help, you all are a great help to this novice.

An Amber Corn is Homozygous for both Hypo and Caramel.

If you breed one with a Normal, providing the Normal is not Het for either of these two traits, you will get all Normals Het for Hypo and Caramel.

Here's a photo of my baby Amber. Neither show off his colors well. He looks more like a Caramel in these photos than an Amber, but he's still a baby so he has a lot of lightening up to do before he looks like the typical Amber:
