i wnat to get one around the size of my female about 5 inches and shes around 1 year old but if its a male will there be a 100% chance of them mating because i dont want that to happen

not 100%, but a large chance, you would need to grow them up to maby 14 months and 6 inches first.

Simple way around that: get another female or another enclosure =)
Anyway, mature males will try to breed with damn near ANY female, regardless of age. The only way to ensure they don't breed is to never have them meet.
