Aggressive Male Strikes at Female ?

balls4all Jan 13, 2005 12:36 AM

Hi All
I love this forum! Its great to be able to get multiple opinions.
I have a male that has been off feed and based on his feed charts this is normal this time of year. He has been cooled the last 5 weeks and is in good health. I recently received a female from a friend that produced last year. I have not probed but Im pretty confident on the sex. I introduced the female into the males cage and within 20 seconds the male struck her pretty hard. The female went into a defensive ball for about 5 min. Then they both became very agitated and almost lookin like they wanted a way out. I am in no way a expert at this but I am very eager to have my first clutch. I have purchased some hets for next year and 6 sub adults for next year.I removed the female and looked her over really well and see no obvious damage. Any opinions would be appreciated. Should I try to introduce again?
Soon as it happend the first thing I thought was Holy Crap I have 2 males!!!!! Thanks to all that reply, This is truly a great hobby!!!!

I would get both snakes probed... just to be sure. Never hurt to be 100% certain. Then go from there.
