Finally got him to eat greens

kay1688 Jan 13, 2005 04:12 AM

Thankyou for the tips i was given on getting my young breadie to eat his greens. i haven't got a laser pen and i did have to stomach to pull the legs off of crickets but i tried what you said about adding movement i put some mealies in his greens. he went up to them and unintentionally grabbed some sninach instead of the meal worms and he has eaten his greens since. not much but he is getting there. thank you so much it is a lot less worry now i know he has got a more balanced diet.

If you can afford to do silkies that works great for me too... the silkies actually eat the greens as they are leaf eaters and the movement also draws them to the greens so they are getting gut loaded silkies and eating greens plus silkies are super high in calcium which is a huge plus as well. The mealiesw are a little more active and I'm sure worked great but the silkies are so much more nutritional you should give it some consideration! It works great for me....

I'm really glad that the movement trick worked for you!

www.mulberryfarms.com... the shipping might be expensive though but you could actually roder like 10,000 eggs for 30 bucks and grow them out yourself... do you have acess to mulberry trees? If not it would probably be a swaste of time as continually having to order food would be pretty expensive I'd imagine...

Are you guys having crazy wheather there too?
