Stress Markings?

digiport Jan 13, 2005 11:45 AM

I read a post recently that mentioned stress markings on a bearded dragon. Is this true? If it is how do I locate these to know if my bearded is stressed?

I think wwhat they are talking about is the fact that whe they are stressed thier bellies will darken and you will see the circles very clearly and also the body appears darker.

Would there be any other signs of stress besides the markings?

Just in my observation, I've noticed that when my beardie is uncomfortable, she tenses up her tail and curves it so it sticks straight up to the sky.

thier color will also appear either nonexistant or dulled substantially.. thier body will appear darker as well... I think it's a built in mechanism used as a "cloaking" device so that when they feel ill they blend in with thier surroundings more and aren't as subject to having to run for cover. that last part's an opinion.
