Parson's chameleon

mattg9979 Jan 13, 2005 12:04 PM

I been looking for a while but cannot find any breeders of Calumma parsonii. Anyone have any experience with the parson's chameleon and know of any breeders.

Thanks

Matt

I saw some for sale on the website not to long ago. They were running for about $2,000 for juvaniles. I forget the breeders name, sorry, but they are out there, they are just real harder to come by.

I didn't realize how rare it is to find them, difficulty raising them or how expensive they were. A book I bought 3 years ago recommended them, however I found it wasn't the case. THanks for the help.

Some of the commonly seen cham books are really outdated! At one time parsoni were imported more often but they just didn't thrive due to bad husbandry. No one really understood their needs and animals they had simply persisted a long time before dying. Anyone breeding them (there are one or two breeders around) is not advertising babies and even if they did they would be very picky about who got them. You'd probably have to hear about them through a forum like ADCHAM which has a restricted membership.
