What kinds of frogs are safe?

roboticboredom Jan 13, 2005 05:37 PM

Ok.. long story short.. joined the Coast Guard and had to leave the w. hoggie with a friend.. around Nov he stoped eating.. i figured it was because of the colder weather and had her bring the snake down here West where i keep him at another friends house. We tried pinkies a few weeks ago and he didnt eat... figuring i would let him hibernate i left the issue alone. I think i mentioend that i would try scenting next because they normaly ate frogs. Well i get a call yesterday that he cought a tree frog and offered it to the snake... the snake of course grabed it and gobbled it up. Aside from the obvious problems i am going to have switching back to mice (haha -yay) is there anything wrong with him eating a green tree frog? he seems to be fine so far. Thanks for any help.

I wouldn't worry about it, but if the snake seems healthy, drop it into brumation. Once out of brumation, you should have much better success starting it on rodents.
