vitamin supplements for aquatic turtle

alimx Jul 04, 2003 04:25 PM

How do you supplement for an aquatic turtle that only eats in the water? I've only found dusting supplements, and all of that gets washed off before the food gets eaten. Thanks!

When you use "Reptomin" as the staple diet, no supplements are needed. It's got a proper(and proven for over twenty years)balance of vitamins and minerals.
Many of us have raised many a turtle to adult-hood on the stuff. There are plenty of other brands of turtle food out there, but Reptomin is by far accepted as the best.

Right - I tried that. She (for lack of actually knowing her sex) won't eat it. I'd prefer her to eat SOME Reptomin, because of the vitamin issues, but I don't know how to make her eat it. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

Sooner or later, your turtle will accept
Reptomin. Don't be afraid to hold food back for a few days. Then your turtle will
be more likely to eat it. I have NEVER had
a turtle that did not love the stuff. Though some may be finicky at first.

What species are we talking about?
How long have you had it?
And was it "wild caught", or captive
bred? These factors might have some bearing on how quickly your guy will
take to eating reptomin.
