Two important questions

geicogecko Jan 13, 2005 06:21 PM

My gecko is acting odd the last few days, he has been walking around with a sleepy look in his eyes and he has been sleeping a lot and not eating as much as he did.
Is it possible that its just because of the drop in temp outside and possibly in the house?
Also does this look male or female to you?

Well first, how old is he/she? If s/he is about a year old than it could be going into brumation. About it's sex, I can see something that looks like bulges but it's hard to tell if there are pores. Maybe someone else will have a better opinion.

Looks like a young male to me. Yeah there's a shadow from your hand right where we want to look for pores. But I'm pretty sure anyway. If you held a female that way you would see bulginess in that spot, but not so sharply divided into two bulges as yours is.

Normally I'd say Yes, probably just brumating, reacting to the winter. Except for what happened to mantisman. Maybe I'm paranoid but didn't his symptoms start with a lot of sleepiness and not wanting to open her eyes?
Mantisman what do you think, if you're there?
