"Cut-throat Anole"

klswvu Jan 13, 2005 06:33 PM

A local pet store is selling "Cut-throat" anoles, which are brown with a yellow streak down the throat. They appear to be a brown anole to me; however, they were selling brown anoles at a lower price.

Has anyone heard of "Cut-throat" anoles, or are they just a brown anole with a more predominant dewlap?

Thanks in advance.

I've seen from the Bartlett book that these had high yellow dewlaps.

At $10 I doubt it could be anything but a common brown anole. Just a odd name... never heard it before. Then again, common names are not known for reliability... marketing hype I guess.
