Hey everybody, I just purchased what was supposed to be a texas barred tiger salamander from a reptile store here. The owner special ordered it for me.....and his supplier told him that it was a texas barred....but then upon arrival to his store....was told it was a spotted tiger salamander. Well since it was special ordered I went ahead and picked it up. It is very healthy and active (I think anway....being my first salamander. I was just have a couple questions. 1). I have it in a moist terrarium set up with jungle litter. He burrows all through the tank. Is this an okay setup? 2). He eats a lot! I am feeding him crickets and a waxworm or two a week. Do salamanders gorge themselves.....should I offer him less food? and finally 3). how territorial are these guys? can I put another salamander in his tank? It is a 20 gallon long.
