First attempt with my new macro lenses...

Darin Chappell Jan 14, 2005 03:30 AM

I just got these new macro lenses for my digi cam, and they seem to be working quite well, I think. I still need some practice, obviously, but the clarity achieved in this first attempt surprised me, quite frankly.

This is the head of one of my juvenile amels, double het for motley and bloodred. Kind of neat seeing the details of the inner eye like this shot shows...

Darin,
Nice pic.. What kind of cam setup did you use I am impressed.. Steve Jones/ El Paso

That is, in fact, the very first pic I ever took with the new set up, so I thought it worked well too. I don't the the "pic" is terribly good in an artistic composition sort of way, but the mechanics of the camera were pleasing.

I have a Kodak DX4900 camera, and I use two 35mm macro lenses (one 10x and one 7x) for a total of 17x magnification, in conjunction with a 35mm adapter. The DX4900 has a 2x zoom feature, making total magnification possibilities up to 34x, and that does not take into account the 6x digital zoom, which I don't like to use on shots like these.

Thanks again!

Darin,
Thanks bud for taking the time to explain it. I am by no means a photographer but learning little by little. Art is really in the eye of the beholder; don't you agree? At any rate have fun with your new toy post some more on the forum of closeups. That one appeared to be crystal clear on my monitor.. WELL DONE, Steve/El Paso

It doesn't have any where near the picture quality of your shots, but I'll keep trying!
