Odd Question, Species?

Redkite7 Jan 14, 2005 01:48 PM

Heyla all,

I have sort of an odd question.

Assuming space, supplies (lighting, humidity, heat, etc, and maintenance are not a problem:

What are the best Phelsuma species for a display-type well-planted vivarium, something that might be in the lobby of... I don't know, a business, restauraunt, hotel, hospital...? In terms of color, hardiness (as in, not going to be unduly disturbed by people passing by, or looking at them a lot), etc?

I'm doing a research project, a "make up your own business" thing, and mine involves making custom-designed and maintained waterscapes, with or without plants and small animals, for businesses, private residen. I was thinking Day Geckos because they're very colorful and diurnal, also possibly finch species, other lizards, and amphibians like poison dart frogs. Not all in the same viv, obviously =)

Have any suggestions, for day geckos or any other suitable herp or avian species that would work well in something like this?

Thanks!

giant day geckos would make a good display. Mines quite active.
