Hypo breeding questions

Colubrid-aphilia Jan 14, 2005 08:23 PM

Does a tri-color hypo to tri-color hypo result in all tri-color hypo babies?

What would be the result of a tangerine hypo to a het for tri-color hypo?

Anyone done this before know the answer?

Thanks in advance,

Dan.

The fact that they are hypo doesn't make a differance. It only meens that all the babies will be hypos.

We have covered this a hundred times easy ( not being a smart a$$)and it reall depend on weather the parents and the grandparents were tangerine etc....

If both parents are tri-color you will most likely get all or high percentage tri color but you may get a couple tangerine and may get a couple of intermidiate's(not really either?)

same goes if both are tangerine. If you have one of each it really depends on the back ground of the snakes.

I have bred two really nice strong tangerines together and popped out perfect tri-colors?Well,come to find out one of the tangerines was from a tri-color.

Anyways,The fact that they are hypo has nothing to do with weather or not they will display the tri-color or tangerine color phase.

Have fun and you will get what you get,The only thing you can count on is that you will get hypos.

Thanks for the info Shannon, couldn't wait 2 years to see for myself, ha ha. I was just curious to see as I have a tangerine hypo male and I am getting a pair of tri color hypos (from a tri-hypo to het breeding I believe) and have the option of picking up a het female that I could put together with my tangerine male hypo. Thanks again for the input, I'm a late bloomer with Hondurans. I've always kept an eye on them but unfortunately my soon to be "EX" wife had other ideas. Now that I'm back on track, well at least back on my track I'm hoping to build a nice collection of Hondurans for my own personal satisfaction (ie. pets). Hopefully Uncle Sam will be nice to me this year and I can get some screamers from some of the members (you, Terry, Falcon etc.)
