Looks good to me, but if I were you I would try to add some belly heat like on the shelf you have built in there. In some of the wood cages I own I took a piece of plexiglass 12"X12" and built a square frame under it and put a piece of 11" flexwatt heat tape under it, I taped it to the plexiglass with aluminum tape. It works great for wood cages and is very cheap.

cheers for that. i had wondered about maybe adding some form of heating at the bottom as it's so high. what would u think about a glass sheet at the bottom with a uht between the wood and the glass run through the thermostat to regulate the heat along with everything else?

Or if you have a little money to spend you can buy a kane's heat mat and put it on the inside

The cage llok great and well made. The belly heat should be added to help with digestion. The only problem I would see it that is may be too big for a young snake, but as long as you offer the food in front of the young snake he will grow into it. As a full grown adult, 6 feet long would be a better length, as the get older Boas tend to use more floor space the cubic space, but he should be happy in there for 3-5 years and if your boa is a male, possibly for ever if he dose not get too big.
Did you make that your self. Excellant work with the light and the heater all built in. Are you a cabinet maker by chance? It looks very professional.
Good Work
