Well since all the snow melted here, I'll make believe it's spring...

Here's an eastern milk that I found in '03 in central Massachusetts. It was a pretty little serpent that brightened up my day. Maybe the green will get me thinking of spring.

It's a little hard to think of spring right now, but I'm trying. We had a snowstorm, which is continuing today, and the wind chill got down to -20*F last night. Here's a sandy habitat pic along Lake Michigan, where a few interesting herps can be found...

One of the snakes that's pretty common along the coasts of the Great Lakes is the Eastern milksnake. Occasionally I keep one as a pet. I kept this baby which has an unusual pattern, but they will only eat other snakes at first. We have a lot of feeder snakes on our property. Not a great pic, but you'll get the idea....

Hope that picture doesn't offend anyone. I only had to do that twice before switching over. Another snake that is ophiophagous is the Eastern massasauga. They can only be found in a few small localities along the coast anymore and a few inland locales. Here's a little yearling I watched for a few minutes last spring along Lake Huron...

Hope that cheers up a few folks. Maybe it'll start a picture spree, heheh!

Great pics. Just the thing to snap me out of the winter doldrums. But did you have to send along that snow storm too? It's just starting here now.
