Are Rosy Reds treated with Copper Sulfate?

EricIvins Jan 15, 2005 04:09 PM

I was blowing some time online and came across a few websites that say rosy reds are treated with copper sulfate just like Gold Fish are. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

I'd have to say false, studies have shown both snakes and turtles live healthier and longer if fed rosy reds over goldfish. Goldfish are a deathtrap. Maybe rosies are treated with copper sulfate, but it just doesn't affect them as much since they are a "river fish" and more susceptible to pollutants.

Those are basically the same thing as rosy reds. Rosy reds are a color morph, erythristic minnows, bait store minnows are just as healthy as rosies, and they are both river fish....
