Mud turtle here?

i think i have a mud here...am i correct? he is about 2.5-3inches in length. how old can i guess his age to be? thanks.

But hard to tell which one from photo.
Did you catch it? What state?
Looks like an eastern mud to me from the photo but I could be wrong too.

saved it off of a busy road in South Carolina...midlands area (central part of state).

The eastern mud turtle, Kinosternon subrubrum. Nice little turtles.
