I'd never buy it, but I think I've seen snakes like it for around $300 or more, "think" is the keyword there. What kind of snake is it? Flame Brooksi?

Hope you guys don,t mind my opinion.I wouldn,t believe that to be brooksi,it very much resembles what Southern Reptiles offered when they advertised "WE have the best in goini" some years ago.Their asking price back then was $300.00 to $500.00each

ZFelicien Jan 16, 2005 11:58 AM

U Hit the Nail right on the head... it's a Blaze Phase Goini, i wouldn't pay $300 for it thou. i got this lovely lady for $100 while her siblings were priced at $350-200. they were much better looking than she was. i hope to find a male this spring.

ZFelicien Jan 16, 2005 10:09 AM

What I have there is a "Blaze Phase"Goini she wasn't the best out of her clutch but she was stunning. and you are right her sibling were 350-250 each. but I cut a sweet deal and got her for $100. I might of paid more if I had to the snake is amazing, her sides are almost completely patternless, I'll have fun with this snake when she matures.

BlueKing Jan 16, 2005 12:20 AM

Not knowing nothing except the pic, hmmmm. . . . . . . (possible high red getula X floridana)
I'll be conservative and start off at a hundred. . .If more information is known, such as pics of parents and history or even locality, maybe as high as 200.
BOTTOM LINE; It all depends on: 1. actual color/overall appearance, 2. size and age (the bigger the better- no dwarfs)3. pics of parents, 4. sex of the animal,
5. feeding ability/schedule/overall health 6. owner (is he well known/knowledgeable) 7. more info on parents 8. scarcity of this particular trait/color morph.
Remember the amount is only a rough guess (only thought about this for a few minutes)

Very nice animal though!

Well the Hi-red Getula X Floridana guess is an interesting one since this subspecies is thought to originate from this natural intergrade. what I have here is a "Blaze Phase" Goini Female, she's an `04 and her actual color is way better than the pic can show. her sides are almost completely patternless. so far she has a great appetite I didn't have the opportunity to see the parents but all her siblings were stunning much better coloration (deeper orange). I'm new to the hobby so I have no clue how popular the seller is but his name was Tom Agosta.
Now finally all her siblings her priced btwn $350-200, but I got this lovely young lady for $100(steal)!!!

BlueKing Jan 16, 2005 03:50 PM

This is my 52" female "high red" goini. She has lost a lot of her orange/red, but she should produce some awesome babies for me this year. She's only 3.5 years old and a virgin, so she's primed for breeding this year, LOL!
Even though these red/orange beauties loose a lot of their bright colors, they are STILL beautiful looking as adults as you can see in this pic!
You got yourself a nice one though. Make sure you post some pics of her babies when her turn comes!

This girl is an 01 and still looks great......at least in my opinion. She's a little less than 4' in length.

I love the overall "pink" look! That is a NICE ONE! Thanks for the pic! You got any more orange (adults) ones?

Zee

Brandon Osborne Jan 16, 2005 05:10 PM

Thanks Zee. I'm raising up 2.4 more so, I'm hoping I get some nice orange/pink adults. Several of the animals I'm raising were much more red than this adult was as a hatchling. Here's another nice red one.

Nice! I really like the bright red spots within the orange scales. Thanks for the pic! (By the way, my big (goini) female is a 01' also). But I think her previous owner fed her extremely well as she's pretty thick as well. This pic doesn't show her colors very well but it does show her thickness:

nice... she has a nice spotted thing going on... she should "throw" some really nice hatchlings with the right male.
good luck be sure to post pix.

Brandon Osborne Jan 17, 2005 12:26 AM

You can definately tell she's a big one. lol. Very nice indeed. Now just produce some killer babies with her.

I love that snake.. she inspired me to get my first Goini... if I don't get a "blaze phase" male I'd love to get a male from that female, you had lots of good stuff last season I was just short on cash when I first saw those beauties.

Here's my 2nd Goini... i sold 1&3 a few weeks after i had um.

ZFelicien Jan 16, 2005 06:34 PM

i know what you mean by lost coloration... when i purchased my Goini she was ORANGE and Black, you can still see a lil orange but it's more a blended yellow-orange. And now she's speckled. it's an amazing snake to work with kinda like the Brooksi i work with. i hope to get a male from the same guy (the blaze phase) this spring, if not i hope Brandon has some nice males this year.
Thanx for the comments

That speckling looks awesome! It is so uniform looking! That IS a georgeous animal! That's one of the best adults I've seen in a while! (I am fond of the uniform speckled look - with that dark background). Thanks for the pic! (if you look at my reply above you can see a full body shot of my large 01' female)

she's another favorite of mine... i'm really upset with myself for parting with her sister, she wasn't as pretty as the female in the pic but she grew faster, i just needed the space then... hopefully she'll breed this season

JETZEN Jan 16, 2005 12:22 AM

I think i would pay $100 if 0.1, would not buy if 1.0, is it a blotched-X? if not, what kind? and who from? I like it!

I think you got a high-end 0.1 at a very good price, GOOD SCORE!

ZFelicien Jan 16, 2005 11:11 AM

Can't wait till she's big enough to breed.

Keith Hillson Jan 16, 2005 09:19 AM

Looks like a Floridana X Apalachicola King??? and I personally wouldnt buy it but Ive seen this cross for 30-60 bucks at shows. It is a pretty snake though.

I have yet to see a Brooksi X Goni Cross so i'm not 100% That she is what i purchase her as but i will place 98% on she is a Goini, the kinda remind me of the ones Brandon sells.

Keith Hillson Jan 16, 2005 10:57 AM

like I said I threw question marks behind it as I cant say for sure. I wouldnt bet any money that my original thought of Brooksi X Goini is correct it was just my first assesment. I know the "Blaze" have a hypo look to them so who knows ??? Ive dealt with Tom A. and he is a good guy so if he says they are Blaze then Im sure they are.

Brandon Osborne Jan 16, 2005 03:32 PM

They look similar, but mine aren't "Blaze" phase. Some of the blotched I produced this year look better than most the blaze that I've seen......and I have still yet to see an adult blaze phase.

I'll post pics of some blotched (goini) X brooksi later. That looks nothing like those offspring.

Nice looking blotched you have though. Here's one of mine. I kept back this year.

goini are the new ITEM i like the stripe on the neck, but i really want a red belly (jetzen) Take er easy.Chris

Brandon Osborne Jan 16, 2005 05:12 PM

Actually Chris, I have a few with red bellies. I'll take some new pics and post them when I get a bit more time. Nice looking blotched you have there. I'd like to get some adults that turn white, but they're very hard to come by.

I contacted a popular Goini breeder about some Blaze Phase. Luckily for me even when I am impulsive I do not buy immediately.....I force myself to wait a day or two and see what kind of info I can score. This breeder gave me the run around and did not send me any pics....wouldn't even give a description of what I could expect the babies to turn into as adults. I am still interested in the Blaze....but I see plenty of cheap Goini that turn out to be very nice looking snakes in my opinion. I have to wonder how different they are. An example to compare this to is Sanzinia. Mandarin phase sounds more exotic, yet some people feel the greens are nicer adults. I saw a Mandarin recently that floored me so maybe a refined line is available now but what I am getting at is the marketing involved to get interest in some variants can be tricky. Especially when any pics to be found are of hatchlings only. I see this even in Hypo Brooksi, it seems a lot of people are attracted to the red babies but man those golden adults look outrageous too....If anyone has pics of adult Blaze Phase Goini please post some Thanks Tom Stevens
