googo151 Jan 15, 2005 11:02 PM

Hey,
Just a quick head shot, of Jet, shot tonight. He's still in recovery and doing well. He just shed today with a little help and looking pretty darn good for a sick fella!

MY god man!! I guess you cant take away the black from a sick snake. Hes lookin damn good, from the exterior you wouldn't notice health problems either. Hope he turns around soon and starts breedin for ya bro.

Hey J,

Thanks J, I think he's going to be fine. Working hard on getting this boy better, believe you me. He's a winner, and one of the sweetest snakes I've ever worked with. He reminds me so much of Tank, probably related somewhere down the line. I think Jet is from the same parents a couple of generations removed. I'll keep you posted. Oh yeah! you said it, the black on this guy is with out words. He's black black black!

Angel

As always, your blacks set the standard. I guess I'm like a lot of collectors. I like the bright colors and lots of contrast. I occasionally look at some of the blacks out there and think my habits are well justified. Then I see yours and immediately start shopping for blacks every time. Be proud, they are awesome.

Hey,
Hopefully, I can get this guy paired up with my girl Chiquita, one of the blackest girls I've got real soon. He's looking better and should make a full recovery, so, I am hopeful things will work out for him and I. Hey, and I know what you mean about the black bloods, they are amazing animals, and when you start working with these guys, you are instantly hooked. Thanks!

Hey,
Jet is going to be well and will IMO, make a full recovery. When I first received him, he came in with a URI, that for all intents and purposes looked and sounded like it would be treatable and that would be the end of that. However, he also, came in with a pretty aggressive case of Stomatitis. He's been put on a couple of antibiotics to treat the latter, as it had aggravated and infected part of the mandible posteriorly and just kept getting worse; or at least appeared to be. Anyhow, he's just shed and is breathing better, and the sheeting or drooling has stopped and is being treated aggressively with Amikacin @3 days IM. He was initially put on Ceftazidime (Fortaz), which is a great drug, however, I just treated one of the other girls with Amikacin, and liked the results. I would've preferred keeping him on Fortaz (non aminoglycoside), but the infection didn't seem to be responding to it. But, I must say this, sometimes as the Vet pointed out to me, these infections just take a little bit longer to treat, and probably the latter drug would've treated the infection effectively; I just liked the results I got with the Amikacin. We'll see!
Note: did I mention Jet also had a case of Mites! Ouch!

Hey Carole,
Thanks, he's a pretty dark fellow, and getting better all the time. His mouth is starting to show signs of improvement as of today, or should I say yesterday. Once he's all better he'll be paired up with a few lady friends waiting on his love. LOL!
Alright, thanks again, and talk to later.
