I never had a smell problem. I use paper towels I change each week and I put more layers in the "poop corner" that I remove as soon as there is poop. The poop doesn't really smell actually, I remove it more for hygiene. I also clean everything in the tank weekly.
Crickets can stink but I feed mostly mealworms that don't smell if kept in clean substrate.

I agree with the above post that they really shouldn't smell. If the feces really does smell bad, it could be a sign of parasites. I'd have a fecal done to make sure. Other than that, I've never really had a smell problem either, cleaning once a week. The bearded dragons or iguana however... damn they get smelly if left for a day or two.

i keep mine on the green carpet, so i have to cut it to fit my tanks and i always have some left over so i put those pieces in the bathroom that way i can clean when ever i need to without disturbing the entire tank. then i can do my normal cleaning but they really dont smell might want to look into a fecal sample like other post suggested

Sometimes no matter how much you clean, reptiles just have a certain smell to them, like a dog or ferret. There is a product called stink away that works pretty good or zoo med's under substrate carbon odor tamers work well too.Give them a try if nothing else helps.
