Male RES claws?

chad98 Jan 16, 2005 12:58 AM

I was just wondering how long a male RES from claws will get? Freddy, my 4 year old Male RES, has really long claws and I am worried a bit about them. I would show a picture of them but I dont really know how to post pictures on here. I know its normal for males to have longer claws, but it looks so uncomfortable for him to walk around. Will they stop growning at a certain point? And is there anyway to file them down? I know I cant clip his claws, but is there some kind of rock or something I can put in his aquarium to ware them down a bit? Or will Freddy be fine? Thanks

He will be fine, just leaave them alone. Here is my male RES, I haven't noticed his claws growing so they must have stopped.

He'll be fine. Don't worry. Keep more than one rock in there he can climb on, it'll wear them down.
