UPDATE Jewels RIP

Claymore Jan 16, 2005 11:00 AM

I brought Jewels to the vet on 1/13/05 to have her looked at. She was not eating her veggies, hardly eating any cricket & she had not poo'ed yet that week. I brought her in & the vet found a large mass near her stomach or liver. We discussed the options & I decided to go with surgery. The vet said that it was the best way to find out what was going inside her. She stayed over night & had her surgery on 1/14/05. The vet called me that afternoon to say she had a large absess taking up about 75% of her liver. He stated that he could not remove due to the size of it. We decided that the best thing to do was to put her down.

On the lighter side Lenny was checked out by the vet & HE MIGHT BE SHE also. She is also very healthy Beardie. She weighed in at a very healthy 430 grams & is 17 3/4 inches long. Milo has his/her vet appointment this Wednesday & I will know for sure if Milo if a boy or girl then.

I'm sorry that it turned out the way it did and you had to lose her. Very Sad, I know how it feels , losing my guy just last week.

You went way beyond what some would do to try and fix her up, she had a good home with someone who really care, thats was NICE !

I hope she met my Auggie and they are having some sort of Dragon fun, ehhehhehehe, take care

Growth on Jewel's liver? The herp vet said that it had been there a while. She was getting all of the right foods & plenty of water. Large enclosure right temps cool & warm side. Just wondering if there was something I could have done to prevent this.

Hi there sorry to hear about your loss. The best way to find out is to get the pathologist to do a histological examination or a biopsy of the affending absses to see exactly what it is. Then the vet may be able to give you some answers.
