Ok, first of all let me point out i have no troubles at all feeding live crickets or any other bugs and that i have been FORCED to make this post by my other house members ( mum, for example)

Are there any alternative non-live food i can give the leos (babies for now)?

I repeat i have nothing against giving live food, in fact, i am doing it still, but other people in the house dont like the idea of one bug escaping and crawling around the house and want me to find other non-living ways of feeding them.

There are a few companies that make canned or freeze dried bugs like crickets, mealworms, etc. They are usually found at larger pet stores or specialty stores. I've had mixed results with these products, the canned crickets smell worse than actual living or dead crickets, but my leopards snatched them up. Hope this helps and good luck!!

If there afraid of crix escapeing or what not get mealworms. They DONT ESCAPE. keep them cool in the fridge and it slows there growth into beetels. so if there afriad of escapeing try mealies.

But mealies dont have a good reputation as basic food, dont they?
I mean, being worms, dont they give any stomach or digestive problems if given constantly....anyways, my geckos are not into any worms...whatever i do they simply wont eat worms( picky babes ). I offer a white mealie, a squished head mealie, but they would only lick it and scatter off to a shelter or away.

Zoomed has a whole line of dead bugs in cans, and they also have a special leopard gecko food that contains dead fruit flies. However, I've tried all those kind of products before with a majority of my animals, and none of them would eat it. Even after spending weeks trying to pretend the bugs were still alive by dangling them from tweezers. Now they are used to feed my venus fly traps.

There isn't really anything that you can feed to your leo that is still healthy and not living. I really don't recommend feeding your leos crickets because A) an adult eats 1 dozen every otherday and B) they can carry harmful parasites that will infect your leo and you dont want that to happen. You should really use either mealworms or superworms (for adults or cut them in half for juvies).

Any ways just my thought.
