Temperature

ulvirys Jan 16, 2005 01:42 PM

Does anyone know what is the minimum temperature Panther Chameleon can sustain? I searched variety websites as well as books and every single source has different temperature range.
I leave in FL and had resently moved my chameleon outside which he absolutely loved however, the night temperature is expected to drop down to 57 and I was wondering if it would be safe to keep cham. outside with "Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter" or should I bring him inside?

If this nightime temp is only for a couple of nights I think you could simply drape something over the cage for the night rather than disturb him. Humid air holds more heat than dry air too so spray the cage before the temp drops in the afternoon. If that temp will be normal for many nights I would get some type of temporary cage set up for him indoors. The heat emitter could work too, but without enclosing the cage at all it would probably just go to waste. 57 is a bit low, but not awful.
