Pituophis sp?

bodisky Jan 16, 2005 01:42 PM

Hello!
New here so please pardon me. I have uploaded a pic in the photo gallery titled Pituophis s? I have had this snake for several years. The previous owner had her for 6. Collected in S. Cal. Does anyone have a clue as to what she is? She is about 4 ft long. I put her on a towel to show her colors better.
TIA!
Kerry

Looks like a San Diego Gopher Snake (Pituophis catenifer annectans) to me.

Check the field guide at www.herpscope.com

Thanks to all that replied!
The San Diego gopher looks like her. It would make sense as San Diego is close to her collection site. I was thinking of finding a home for her someday and I really wanted to know what she was!
Thanks again for the replies and jrreptil I will check out the guide. Thanks for the link.
