I have this little mini bonzai tree decoration for the gecko tank that was bought at petsmart about a year ago. Since then it housed a leo with parasites so I know for sure that they are on this thing. It's painted though and I don't know what to clean it with that won't take all of the color off of it. Has anyone else had to deal with this, if so please give me some advice.

There is a reptile spary called WIPE OUT 2. Works wonders on cage decorations without the harhness of bleach. Most major pet stores keep it in stock.

what kind of parasite are you talking about... some parasites take much more to kill than others

ok if it is something like crypto, paramixo ect. i wouldnt even bother cleaning it and just throw it away (yeah i know expensive but these are extremely hard to kill), if something like cocidia 10% amonia, thing is what we all buy at the grocery store is 10% amonia, so you would have to use straight amonia to kill the cocidia spores and then once cleaned very well wash and rinse it very well with water. most everything else ccan be killed with a 1:10 bleach/water solution., quatricide, virosan or rocal.. the safest of those cleaners is going to be the virosan.... and all are very effective... some require rinsing after cleaning others don't
