Someone help!!

I was just given a yearling Savahan Monitor, But shes got a respitory infection, beside taking her in to the vet what can i do. She coughs once in a while and i cant get her to eat. any ideas

If your animal is sick, I would not try feeding it until it is completely recovered. Reptiles can go long periods without eating, so I wouldn't worry about feeding it right now. Take it to the vet, ask for his/her advice/treatment. At home, i would make sure that the temperatures and humidity levels are correct. You should have a broad range of temperatures in your cage ranging from the low 70's to 150 for a basking spot. Without proper temperatures, the animal's immune system will have a difficult time fighting off whatever it is afflicted with. But regardless, go see a vet.
