Nice... Mazuri Question

Grape Jan 16, 2005 10:09 PM

Its nice to see a more specialized forum. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a feeding schedule for mazuri? Ive got 5 of them (between 1 and 5 yrs of age) and was wondering how frequently it should be fed. Thanks a bunch!

Mazuri is a staple in my feeding program. All of my tortoises are offered soaked Mazuri at least 5 days a week along with their greens. I chop the greens quite fine for the babies and smoosh some completly soggy Mazuri throughout their greens. I offer no other vitamins or minerals to their diet and they grow smoothly and thrive. Along with daily soakings for all babies kept indoors, mazuri offered almost every day, and a variety of greens, all my tortoises are growing without pyramiding even though they are growning fast. And the tortoises all LOVE Mazuri.

hi i just bought some mazuri from a local pet store and soaked it and mixed it with greens, and my little guy won't touch the stuff, picks through it to get the greens. so i tried feed him it today just by itself and he looks at it and then just walks away? any suggestions? he is a a hatchling.

For my hatchlings I cut the greens in tiny pieces. I soak the mazuri until mushy and then just take my hand and mush thru the finely chopped greens. What I then have is a mixture that when they eat any greens they are also ingesting the Mazuri. It works great. No other supplementation is necessary.
