It looks to be a Jungle or a Jungle cross of some kind to me also. Why would you ask Yasser if he is trying to be funny???

michiel1981 Jan 17, 2005 01:06 PM

well its nowhere near a jungle and i really do not see what makes you think it is, anyways i asked an expert and he's pretty much convinced its a partly striped mcdoweli

Hmmmm....nowhere near a Jungle?????????
Are you trying to be funny??????????
Just out of curiousity who is your expert that is convinced it is pure Mcdowelli? If it is Mcdowelli I would definitely lean towards it being a Cheynei cross. I cannot understand why you would be so defensive when you are the one that posted links and asked for our opinions.

AnthonyCaponetto Jan 17, 2005 02:36 PM

It's obviously not a variegata and since you say it's nowhere near a Jungle (which I beg to differ), why would you bother asking? What else could it have been?

For future reference, you should be a little more polite to those who respond to your questions...especially questions of this nature. Most knoledgeable people (like Yasser) won't bother reading (let alone replying to) the "What kind of Carpet do I have?" threads.

and like the main reason i about it maybe even be a jungle is that i have a 5 year old pure jungle that i think i can fit 4 times into the only 3 year old snake we are talking about.

You had some background information and you spoke (wrote) intelligently enough to portray or communicate your side of view in a manner that can be understood. It complicates the matter with the seemingly immature comment of "whatever". That is a favorite statement of my ten year old daughters, especially when she is being scolded.

If you came here for some ideas and opinions then you got them. If you dont like what you got it should really bear no difference, as you like them and can present or misrepresent your snakes any way you want.

Im sorry if you have gotten your feelings hurt, however this is a public forum and we are all individuals with our own thoughts, that being said we are entitled to our own point of view. Especially when you invited us to your post posing a question.

In my opinion I would say that what you have is a carpet python of some sort, probably a cross but maybe not (I am a boa person myself) but I do respect several individuals that deal with carpets and have done so for a long time, such as those responding to your post. I would suggest that you listen to these individuals as they probably know a bit more than you and I. Please correct me if Im wrong....

Good luck
Bob

Dude, your attitude isn't cool. Learn some manners or you'll be burning bridges before you even cross them.

The only reason I think it's a coastal is because it reminds me so much of this female of mine pictured here.

It's got the striping on the sides and the color of the dark pattern make me think Coastal...but the black & gold overall hue and some of the facial markings on that particular snake make me think jungle.

But, we'll never really know, so why worry? As we both know, that's what happens when you don't buy from the breeder.

I am also a bit curious as to where you are from? Not that it matters to me but in most places those weed plants you have in your gallery are illegal.

I'd say there's definitely some jungle/coastal influence, but I'm not an expert. Best thing to say about it is that its a cross. Definitely doesn't look pure to me.

BTW Adam is right about those weed plants. ugh.

This is the most action I have seen in this forum for a long time. Although I wish the topic and discussion was more intellectually stimulating I did find it faintly amusing. You should post here more often.

P.S. Nice Jungle or whatever...
