question on keeping the cool side warm enough.

claymore Jan 17, 2005 05:39 AM

Is there a good way to heat the cool side of an enclosure? I'm having trouble keeping the temp at 80(more like 70-75 in there now). I was thinking of just using a regular light bulb but I don't want the temps to get too hot. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Try switching your basking light to a flood, they cover a larger surface. If that's not an option a regular light would be fine also.

often they need temps that low so they can thermoregulate better. Like, they can go bask for a while, and when they get too hot, they come to the cool area where they can cool down to the temp they want. Plus, they sometimes like to retreat to a hidespot that is in the 70's.
