I got a hovabator from LLLReptile for like $38, it also included deli cups and some vermiculate. I'm not really thrilled with it though. I lost all my eggs last year due to it being jumpy in temp. I can't seem to get it to stay within two degrees of the temp I want (82*). I've tried putting extra water in it to stabilize it but it didn't work. Any pointers guys? I'm thinking of trying to make one of those homemade ones with a cooler. Maybe some suggestions will help this other guy.

This site has the Hova-Bator at a cheap price. You should go with the "Thermal Airflow" model and NOT the "Turbo-Fan" model. The turbo model will dry out your eggs, or so i've heard.

With all seriousness they are not great on their own..... A thermostat should be used with them if you must use a hova.... I would seriously consider building your own..... Here is one that I built to give you an idea.... Only goes up or down a half of a degree....

Cool, Does anyone have any pans for a good homemade built incubator? I want something a little different than the usual fishtank, brick and tank heater. Thanks!

All you pretty much need is a wine fridge, a heating element, a thermostat, and an imagination and your done.....

Greg, do you have plans or instructions for how you built that? It looks great.

Did you remove the "Cooling" device from the container and just plug in a heating device? I'm wondering if you used the same plug from the fridge.

Thanks,
Jason
