Looks ready to shed and is due to eat, should I offer food???

CHEeeEZZZ Jan 17, 2005 01:12 PM

Hey, my bp is ready to shed and is overdue for eating. He was in the blue for the past 2 days and now he is cleared up, so I guess hes gonna shed any time now. Hes been eating every 4 days and today is the 7th day since his last meal. Should I offer a rat or not? Thanks

I always at least offer food, even when they are about to shed. My little girl always eats when I offer. If they don't want it, they won't take it, but if it's been 7 days, and he's used to a four day schedule, you might want to offer it. I hope this helps.

Sorry. I screwed up that post with nothing in it. I meant to say it should be no problem to feed them, even when they are about to shed. Mine eat also when about to shed. But I know some people who's BP's won't eat just before a shed. Worst case, they don't take it and you can freeze it again...
