need some suggestions for a fund raiser...

i tried this already in the open discussion forum, but absolutely no one replied. as some of you have heard me mention recently, we just formed a herpetology club at my school and at our last meeting we came up with the idea of having a fund raiser (since theres a lot of stuff we've got in mind to do with the club and its brand new). some of the stuff we thought of was normal stuff, like shirts (too expensive @ $10 a piece), beer coozies, and sadly thats all anyone could think of. i thought maybe we could sell some blow ups of some of our photography since there are some good photographers in the group, but never heard back from anyone on the idea. the only good thing is the guy that owns the restaurant we were meeting at offered to give us a bunch of coupons that would in turn help both sides, but im sure we'd prefer something to get our name out. i was even thinking of donating some of my crested geckos to a club breeding project since they could perpetuate as long as people kept them healthy, and could give some members a good experience in breeding. but that would still take a long time and i need to produce some babies to give to them in the first place. does anyone else have any good ideas for us???

You can host sporting events such as a bowling night or sand volleyball tournament in coordination with respective businesses... I participate in such events every year and they are a hit... It does take a couple years to get the ball rolling, but they work well...

thanks for the idea! we actually have an old bowling alley across the street from campus (allbeit a delapidated alley), thats a pretty good idea and pretty feasable. im pretty sure because of their close proximity to campus and the fact they do so well with the student population, we have a good chance at this one! i even took a bowling class so i can show some people up! good one!
