Rat pinkies vs Mouse hoppers?

crtoon83 Jan 17, 2005 02:21 PM

I was told that these would be the same size roughly, but the rat pinkies I got are just about exactly the same size my fuzzies that i've been feeding are. Do I just have abnormally large fuzzies or should I really have moved up to the next size pinky?

Thanks,
Chris

I am not saying that you should use this guy, but you can use his site to get an idea of how the different ages of mice and rats compare in length and weight.

sorry to butt in, but it sounds like you wouldn't recommend rodent pro. is this true? i was thinking of placing an order with them in the near future but if there's any reason not to do so i'd definitely prefer to be aware of it.
thanks

For what its worth, I order all of mine from Rodent Pro and have no complaints about their service or product.

My point was that Rodent Pro's site could be used to compare the sizes and weights of rats and mice. Who do you order your mice from now?

Funny how a topic changes in a post’s thread, the original question asked was about the relative size of rat and mice offspring at their stages of development. I placed a link to Rodent Pro because you could easily compare the size and weight of each corresponding item (i.e.: rat hoppers vs. mice hoppers).

I have about 25 rat snakes of varying ages and sizes. I buy mice by the hundreds when I order them. Since I have to open a few bags at a time when I do my weekly feedings, the hairless ones do start to show some freezer burn after a while, but my snakes don’t care and the nutritional value of the mice is not affected. What is very important to me is that when I need to order some mice, that the supplier has them in stock and can get them out to me.
