Fat-tailed Gecko forum? Yes/No?

phwyvern Jan 17, 2005 04:11 PM

With the addition of subforum features we have more room to play with on adding new forums.

Some time back it was asked that we make a Fat-tailed gecko forum. Is this still the consensus of the folks here? Let me know please.

I'm all for it. Haven't been here long, but noticed there were forums for some individual gecko species. So why not AFTs.

Since fat tails are second only in popularity to leopard geckos (in terms of how many are purchased in the pet trade), I think it would be a good idea.

I would say combine a leo/fat tail forum because most people who are interested or know a lot about leos will have the same for fat tails. I don't know how many posts would get onto this forum, but if there arent many....responses will be slow.

I'm for it. If lack of posting activity is a fear it could always be combined with other eyelidded geckos. Combining it with Leopard Geckos might end up eclipseing it since I'd imagine so many posts would be about Leopard Geckos.

i think there should be a aft forum but not together with the leos

We do have the potential to give fat tails their very own forum, but we could not combine leos/fts due to advertising contracts and all that business backend stuff ...not to mention, leos would drown out any other subject - they are prolific posters in that regard and the #1 most active forum right now. lol

While I personally have no interest in such a forum, I beleive there are enough people who keep them to start a forum. That's One vote FOR a seperate forum from me.

Yes, Show the fattys some love.

definately. I think fat tails are kind of under-represented in the herp world anyway. They deserve their own forum!
