The next war appearing on the horizon?

H+E Stoeckl Jan 17, 2005 07:04 PM

According to the U.S. journalist Seymour Hersh the U.S. had launched recon missions in Iran in order to determine correct targets (e.g. nuclear plants) for a military operation this summer.

It seems that some German journalists were right in their prediction that Bush will comprehend his re-election as a commission of the voters to carry on attacking countries in the Middle East.

"NEWSFLASH"

The Bush administrations goal is EMPIRE,p lain and simple.
And like many of the empires of the past, this one will fall, it is inevitable.

Iran? Syria? Iraq? No surprise here.
A surp[risde would be China.....N.Korea

I used to be disgusted, now Im just amused....

And we voted for him...go figure....

(P.S. I didnt vote for him..or his DADDY for that matter)

Sincerly,

The Bush Administration, with access to Karl Rove's media savvy consultancy, immediately began taking personal jabs at Seymour Hersh and the story but did not flatly deny any of the actual content of the story.

What's more interesting than the fact that we're doing special operations in Iran (we all knew that already, didn't we?) is how the Administration is belittling the CIA and acting in complete secrecy. This is similar to how they belittled Colon Powell, shut out his ideas, and went their own way.

But I'm off on a tangent now.

I'm suspicious that if the media gets used to the idea of Iran being the next target, the Bush Administration will think they have "political capital", and, we all know what happens when they think that.

Well, I know it's a tired ol' argument. But, it's well known that the U.S. is despised in most muslim countries. They hate us and want to murder as many of us as possible for allah. Should we ignore them until it's maybe too late ? I'm not so sure the bushies are taking it on properly either. It's my opinion that there are some other, more urgent issues, RIGHT here that they're ignoring. The middle east always has been (and I suspect always WILL be) a problem. I'm starting to think we should do one of two things, secure OURSELVES and our borders better OR clean up the whole litter box that is the middle east (and that will NEVER be done effectively by sending soldiers there). It seems like we're attempting both of these goals at once, and I think because of that, were only going to be able to do a half-baked job in either department. This will make us MORE hated in the middle east, AND more vulnerable to attack, wonderful

At any rate, if something happens it will happen soon because Bush has only 4 years to finish his crusade in the Middle East.

And a war on Iran would surely be not more pleasurable than the war on Iraq.

And: Who will pay the costs?

The last couple interviews I have seen him in, Bush has been almost Jubilant. He really beleaves America has given him a mandate.

Thane, I think you are beginning to understand...

(ME)Well, we'll see what he does with it. I think he's trying to do the right thing(s), I'm just not sure he's going about it very well. Being the president, he has a lot of pressures from many areas. Seems like trying to make every special interest group happy (and there are so many more these days) and dealing with domestic AND international issues is stretching things pretty thin. Some will call him an idiot etc., but I say "If I was trying to deal with all this, all the time, I'd be tired, have a headache and be a little nutty."

Which is why niether you nor I (nor Bush) should be president.

Was listening to C. Rice at her comfirmation hearing. She's still trying to sell WMD's as the reason to be in IraQ.

Watch Iran...Things will get lively there soon I think.

Maybe the WMD's that should have been in Iraq will be found in Iran...or maybe the WMD's in Iran that hould have been there will be found in Syria.

And maybe winged monkeys will fly out of my butt.

Franks right...Iran is the next stop om this countrys mission for EMPIRE. And we havent even finished paying for Iraq yet(Rebuilding that is)

Nice to know we have unlimited resources to spread around. Guess all those who lost their jobs to outsourcing and a lousy economy the last three years ave rebounded and are doing well.

Glad to know that the needs of the homeless have been met and that spending on education is of PARAMOUNT importance.

And the medical care...oh so affordable for all, especially those that have loved ones with life threatening illnesses.

Isnt it nice to know we are in such GOOD hands?
