Gina Gavin the person that you all have seen the banner on this site and others called "Ornate Sky Fund" who was caught in the Rhode Island nightclub fire 2/20/03 has come home to her family.

Gina is a wonderful person and was active on many list and forums about bearded dragons and Uro's, the artwork on the banner is her's.

Please read this link to hear Gina's story and todays update, bless all you that made so much possible in keeping Gina's family going and easing the burden on her.

A special thanks to websites owners, show promoters and breeders that helped pull a community together for a fellow herper, what this community did is awesome and all should be commended

I just saw that on local TV last night, CheriS. I'm new to the forums, but live in RI. I'm glad to see that she survived and has received so much support. We lost alot of good people when the Filling Station burnt down.

community pull together and help out another like the reptile community online did. $10,000 was raised to date to help Gina cover home expenses for her as a single mother with 3 children while she was recovering herself.

Since you are in that area, you probably know that there was no insurance or any way for the injured or families to recover any financial losses for lost wages or special medical needs. Gina was in the hospital for over 100 days.

This community gave so much it make a real difference that her and the children did not have to suffer more losses than they did.

It was so encouraging to see users online, breeders, product supplies and websites totally back this Fund. Jeff of Kingsnake.com not only ran the banner ads often, he hosted the website for her when Ronnie of Cricketfood.com site became so busy it could not handle all the traffic and updates needed.

Ronnie was awesome, he got a site up fast, kept it updated for months added all the donations, auctions to the site and staffed reptile shows to sell items and collect donations, one person can make a difference, 100 can do the impossible!
