Update on Gecko With the Swollen Head!

katahdin_97 Jan 17, 2005 08:05 PM

Just wanted to let you know that Chevy seems to be doing okay. The swelling has stablized. I consulted a vet (what a chore finding one) and he recommened the antibiotic ointment and we are doing soaks with h20 and pedilite. She really perked up after doing the soaks. My concern now is that she still won't eat. Thanks again for all your suggestions and help.

Chevys still hanging in there, but still not eating and very lethargic. I just noticed that she had a very small poop which is half white (normal looking) and half yellow (almost floresent). There is nothing in her cage that could have caused this (she on paper towels)...so I'm stumped. I wonder if she hasn't given up> so sad.

Sometimes if they stop eating but still drink water they do pass urates but not the reg "poop" part. Does it look just like a reg poop but without the dark part?

Thanks again for replying...It did look mostly normal, but rather flat with the yellow part. What you wrote makes sense.
I'm not sure if she's going to make it or not. She's doing weird things now...like sitting on top of her house during the day (which she's never done), not opening her eyes much, and puffing up her throat a lot. She's soooo skinny. I'm afraid that I'm going to lose her. The only bright side is that her wound looks better, just wish she'd eat. =(
