Can vegetables

trappercat Jan 17, 2005 08:26 PM

I was wondering if anyone out there has tried the can vegetables. I can not find any of the frozen vegys with out salt added here in Michigan, but I did find some canned mixed vegys with no salt added. Do you think they have the same nutrition as the frozen ones?

The other people on the forum are going to start rolling their eyes at me. "Here she goes again..." lol

In my opinion, the canning process will add many more harmful things to the vegetables than a little salt. The leeched aluminum alone is of great concern to me. I should however point out, that I choose not to eat canned goods myself, because of the leeching, and additional chemicals utilized.

Most canned vegetable are cooked and I'm not sure if you will find any without salt. There would be some nutrition loss, but I'm not sure how much.
